Although it's said to be a "Web phone," Motorola VE538 doesn't actually look like one. What we have here is a simple candybar with a 2 inch TFT display that supports a 240 x 320 pixel resolution. The handset brings the following: tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, easy access to websites like ShoZu, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Google, MSN or Yahoo, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, secondary camera (placed in the front) for video calls, speakerphone, Electronic Arts' Sudoku game pre-installed and a battery said to provide up to 160 hours of stand-by time (not too great).


The dimensions of VE538 are not known, but the phone doesn't seem too slim (though not too bulky either). The internal memory of the new phone is of only 10MB, but fortunately Motorola has also included a microSD card slot in the handset, allowing users to expand its storage space up to several GBs.

All in all, Moto VE538 looks like it might be a good choice for users who don't want a smartphone but still want to enjoy some smartphone-like features.
